Blogs at the Responsibility Project, present a number of ethical issues and identify pros and cons for each situation. Your job is to choose one of the issues on the Responsibility Project’s Web site, and then – using the R.E.S.O.L.V.E.D.D. strategy – work through the problem to identify a possible solution. After you’ve completed each step, you must write a paragraph that explains what the solution is and what possible impact that solution could have.
Answer the questions for each step of RESOLVED using complete sentences as well as proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Step One – Review:
What are the important details of this case?
What information would you like to have that is missing, and that you must decide without having?

Step Two – Evaluation:
What are the options for this solution?
What is the main ethical conflict in this issue?

Step Three – Solutions:
What are some possible solutions to this problem? (Note: because you are brainstorming, some of the solutions may be unusual!)

Step Four – Outcomes:
For every solution above, list possible consequences that might occur (be specific and concrete).

Step Five – Likely Impact:
What cultural groups might be impacted by these outcomes (remember, cultural groups extend beyond ethnicity to include such things as economic status, age, gender, education, etc.
What would these impacts be?

Step Six – Values:
List the important ethical/social/philosophical values or principals upheld by each solution, and explain briefly how each one is upheld.

Step Seven – Evaluation:
Why is one solution better than another? What solution would you recommend?

Step Eight – Decision:
How could this solution be carried out?

Step Nine – Defense:
What are the main weaknesses of your decision?
Why might someone object to your decision.

Step One – Review:1.Education reform has been a policy that has gone unresolved since the early 1950s. Even then, early statistics showed that educational standards lagged behind other countries including Britain, Australia and other western countries. Various programs have been enacted in the United States such as the National Defense of Education act of 1958 to increase educational standards overall with little effect. Other smaller bills, only subject to specific states were put into place but did little to correct the problematic educational standards as a whole.
